When accessing our Web site, AES will learn certain information about you during your visit. How we will handle information we learn about you depends upon what you do when visiting our site. When you visit our Web site you may provide us with two types of information:
PERSONAL INFORMATION YOU CHOOSE TO PROVIDE
AES does not obtain personally-identifying information about you when you visit our site, unless you choose to provide such information to us, nor will such information be sold or otherwise transferred to unaffiliated third parties without your approval at the time of collection.
You may provide personal information about yourself and your firm or company when you request an evaluation, a white paper on a technical topic, or support. The personal information collected may consist of your name, job title, email address, phone number, and company. In certain instances, for example, when requesting an evaluation, we may ask that you also provide your state and country. If you identify yourself by sending us an e-mail containing personal information, then the information collected will be used to respond to your message and may be used to place you on an email list for our newsletter. The information collected generates an email and is not stored on the site.
AES does not maintain a process for an individual consumer who uses or visits our commercial Web site to review and request changes to any of his or her personally identifiable information collected through our Web site.

The information collected is for statistical purposes. AES uses software programs to create summary statistics, which are used for such purposes as assessing the number of visitors to the different sections of our site, what information is of most and least interest, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system performance or problem areas.
For site security purposes, and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, AES uses software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage.
